Pediatric Cancer

Models and Mechanisms Network

The Pediatric Cancer: Models & Mechanisms (PCMM) network has been established to catalyze connections between researchers across the preclinical spectrum to drive biology-informed early phase clinical trials in pediatric hematology and oncology.

Collaborations across the Canadian biomedical community will expedite the understanding of diseases, and enable the design of new therapies to the ultimate benefit of those affected by pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

Researchers outside or within the national PROFYLE initiative submit a preclinical research question to the Molecular Tumor Board-Clinical Advisory Committee (MTB-CAC). If approved, the MTB-CAC sends the question to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and Bioinformatics Core, which will attempt to identify preclinical researchers with appropriate expertise that they have self-declared in the Network Registry.

The PCMM network is supported through the Cancer Biology theme of ACCESS. ACCESS is a pan-Canadian pediatric cancer network advancing childhood cancer experience, science and survivorship. Our network of researchers, healthcare providers, industry leaders and people with lived experience believe in equitable access to scientific advances, diagnostic tools, innovative therapies and supportive care to better health outcomes and quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
